Celestial Bodies Performance Project

Open call for hardworking, dedicated intermediate and advanced bellydancers to perform with Jill Parker, Maite Gasco and Mind’s Eye in the CELESTIAL BODIES PERFORMANCE PROJECT.

I am offering an Intermediate / Advanced /Semiprofessional/ Professional Performance Workshop culminating in a short run of shows at Dance Mission Theater’s Choreographer’s Showcase October 10th and 11th, 2025, in San Francisco.

The choreography we will perform is set to Adventure in Istanbul, by Byzantine Time Machine. Maite and I co-created this sumptuous choreography, and we are absolutely in love with it. We will set this beauty on you, breathe life into the dance, embody, refine, polish, elevate, and then we will stage it on a gorgeous collection of Celestial Bodies dancers. During our time together we will also create a short companion piece in the studio with you. You get to be a part of the magic while it is happening!

Over decades I have developed methods for unifying and inspiring groups of artists around the common cause of delivering powerful performances together. This ability is borne out of my many years of experience, an open heart, high standards for artistry, and a desire to be a part of something bigger than myself. I believe everyone desires a sense of belonging. I find joy in facilitating opportunities for growth and a culture of belonging.

The workshop is delivered in a hybrid method which includes the following offerings:

  • An elevated, focused, hardworking, heart forward environment in which I aim to challenge you while providing support and guidance pulling out the very best in you.

  • Video tutorials clearly broken down

  • Two live zoom classes of two hours each

  • Three video homework assignments

  • Private Facebook group for sharing inspiration, resources, support, study groups, community, and homework videos

  • Written feedback on technique, approach to team dynamics, professionalism, performance quality, ability to synthesize feedback, artistry, etc. will be provided at the end of the immersion. This feedback can be customized to fit your requests. The feedback will be delivered thoughtfully with love and support, aiming to help you achieve long term growth.

  • Three in person rehearsals of three hours each. These rehearsals will go beyond setting choreography on you. I aim to help you attain deep embodiment, and emotive performance quality.

  • Tech rehearsal the week of the show. Tech times will be available the week of the show: Wednesday, 10-4pm, Thursday 10am – 10pm. Tech rehearsals will be set by 2 weeks prior to the show and will last approx. 30 min.

  • Two shows at Dance Mission Theater Friday/Saturday October 10th & 11th.

  • Well produced video of our show, set with beautiful lights.

  • Optional written personalized feedback on homework submissions $40.

  • Optional private lessons through the course of the immersion at the discounted rate of $80/hour.
